Build Oboro no Ichi one step at a time

Sources checked English Steam store page and appdetails, 7 Nov 2026, including the Early Access questionnaire and store screenshots.

Quick answer

Oboro no Ichi tells you to design the space freely, connecting stalls, buildings, and pathways into one harmonious market.

Each structure has a role in the store’s words: produce resources, supply stalls, and grow the market. The page does not name the pieces.

The loop asks for a balance of beauty and function: production, sales, expansion, and appeal, at a pace the store calls relaxing.

Expanded market customization, plus new items and structures, is a full-version plan. A store screenshot shows a build palette; this site does not transcribe its labels or costs.

Oboro no Ichi is a building game in the store’s own genre list: Casual, Indie, Simulation, Early Access. This page is only the building sentences Steam has published. It is not a layout to copy, and it is not a shopping list.

Design the space

The heading Build and Grow Your Market says you freely design the space, connecting stalls, buildings, and pathways to create a lively and harmonious place. Growth is described as one step at a time. The short description’s matching phrase is “grow your space through memories and a cozy atmosphere.”

Store art is the illustration of that sentence. The library hero is a night boardwalk: lanterns on the water, a wooden stall, a torii, and a path. The screenshots are isometric and already built up — roofs, stone paths, strings of lights, trees, and a stretch of water. They show that a market can be large. They do not show a grid size, a camera limit, or a plot you have to fill.

One screenshot opens a build palette over a path. It is a grid of placeable objects. The labels and any costs in that palette are small, and a single frame is not a catalog, so they are not copied onto this page. Stalls explains that boundary in more detail.

Structures and pathways

The only job description Steam gives a structure is this: produce resources, supply your stalls, and grow the market. Pathways are named in the same breath as stalls and buildings, as the things you connect. The store does not say whether a path is cosmetic, whether it has a length limit, or whether spirits need a clear route. Those are reasonable questions. They are not answered in the text checked on 7 November 2026.

The Early Access “current state” answer says you can already connect structures inside a playable loop, and that the game offers options for development and customization. It does not list the options.

Beauty and function

A Simple Yet Deep Gameplay Loop asks you to find the right balance between beauty and functionality. The four actions under that line are organize production, manage sales, expand the market, and increase appeal. The store then calls the result a relaxing cycle that is easy to grasp, yet full of choices, strategies, and combinations.

“Strategies and combinations” is as specific as the sentence gets. There is no example combination, no beauty score, and no penalty for a crowded path. The cozy line next to it says there is no rush. Read together, the page is selling a slow layout toy, not a timed puzzle. The category list includes Playable without Timed Input, Save Anytime, and Mouse Only Option, which fits that pitch. It also includes Adjustable Difficulty. The payload does not say what the difficulty control changes.

What the full version says it will add

The Early Access questionnaire, on the store page, says the Early Access build already includes the core: building, management, and the loop. The full version is planned to add, among other things:

  • expanded market customization options
  • new items and structures
  • new interactions with spirits
  • deeper events and gameplay dynamics during market hours

So a build guide written before 9 November 2026 cannot pretend to be the final toolset. TheLaba also says the Early Access window is about 6–12 months and that new systems should keep the relaxing tone. Customization is expected to grow during that window, not only on the 1.0 day.

The 13 May 2026 devlog does not add building rules. It talks about why the market exists. That note is on Market.

Not a blueprint

Release date, platforms, and the rest of the fact table are on the guide.
